We’re a group of 3 adults (all single parents) and 4 young children with a dynamic vision for family living in Calderdale, West Yorkshire.
We’re committed to creating a vibrant, intentional community where we can all co-exist, grow and learn together. It’ll be a nurturing community where we share resources, skills and experiences; a space where we can collectively invest in our future. It’ll be a healthy, happy, creative, green, ethical, inspiring, and playful home for both adults and children.
Although there will be lots of communal space and shared times such as communal meals, gardening, social activism and storytelling, the importance of personal space will also be recognised with all members having their own personal ‘retreat zone’.
We’re looking for others who share this vision to join us to help make it happen in Calderdale. So if this way of family living resonates with you, do get in touch!

We would also welcome enquiries from potential investors.
At the last gathering, we decided to produce a template presentation about current and proposed legislation regarding Houses of Multiple Occupancy (HMOs), eg licensing and new planning regulations. While it's possible to use the presentation for yourselves, a few of us are also willing to come and do it for you and talk to your co-op about the implications.

Incredible news; Random Camel Housing Co-op of Ipswich, Suffolk, have had an offer accepted on a house! No.s 23-27 Foundation St. It's actually 3 terraced 2-up 2-down properties next to one another, 2 of which have been knocked through, 1 remaining as a self contained entity. In all, it can house up to 9 tenants.
We are only able to actually buy it if there are at least 7 of us living there, and there are currently only 4 of us on the books; Gemma, John, Helen and Frankie, a recent new member who's just come back from touring housing co-ops in Canada.
Our aim is to set up a new housing co-op in Morecambe and we are looking for more members! We’re all enthusiastic about creating a supportive community and want to hear from people who would like to become part of this project with us.
We are looking for people who believe in working towards social change, in the many forms this can take, who are committed to a simple green lifestyle and who would be happy to live in a vegan house. The project is starting, so we need enthusiastic people that can commit time and energy to make it happen.
If you think you'd like to get involved or if you want to find out more, please get in touch! We are looking forward to hearing from you!
